A total solar eclipse crossed Iceland, Greenland and northern Spain and Portugal on 12 August and drew crowds to the path. Almost everywhere else followed it from a distance.
Most respondents did not actually follow the eclipse coverage, with several noting they missed it entirely, often due to being at work or unaware it was happening. Among those who did engage with it, the experience was firsthand — watching it in person rather than through media or online coverage. Overall, genuine engagement with eclipse coverage was limited within this group.
